Project

Develop a National SLCP, National Methane Roadmap and MRV Framework

This project responds to a request made by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina to launch national short-lived climate pollutant (SLCP) planning efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a new Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) partner. More information on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s involvement in the CCAC is available on its Partner Page.

The national planning process and resulting National SLCP Plan should contribute to the implementation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Climate Change Adaptation and Low-Emission Development Strategy, and National Energy and Climate Plans (NECP). This work should also strengthen national capacity to monitor and report on short-lived climate pollutants and develop an integrated greenhouse gas and SLCP MRV framework.
By developing policies that integrate climate and clean air objectives, countries can maximize the benefits of action, helping to reduce the rate of near-term warming – which contributes to achieving the long-term Paris Agreement targets – while at the same time realizing immediate, local benefits for public health and well being and supporting the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
